We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Early snow excites New Zealand’s ski resorts, 6 weeks ahead of 2006 season

Unusually early storms have blanketed New Zealand’s south island mountains with 15cm to 40cm of snow, six weeks ahead of the scheduled resort openings for the 2006 ski season.

Resorts like Coronet Peak, Treble Cone and The Remarkables don’t plan to open until 10 June or later, so the operators are hoping for continued cold weather to set things up.

“It’s a little unusual to have an icy blast on the mountains quite so early on, especially when we had temperatures in the early 20s last week,” said The Remarkables Ski Area Manager Hamish McCrostie.
