Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Pain in left foot

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have in my left foot when skiing. Originally boots felt fine but injured my foot running and now have pain. My ski boots have only been used on 3 occasions. I am thinking ill get boots adjusted and may go for custom insoles. I use carv insoles to track ski performance at the moment. Will this affect any custom insole if I get some?

Sorry to hear about the pain. Carv goes under the liner as you know, so we don't see any real issues with insoles (I personally ski with insoles as well).
If you have a very stiff bridge under the arch of the insole there is a small chance your insole might leave a deadspot on the sensors where your foot's pressure isn't translated to the sensor, but most of our reading comes from the heel and metatarsals (toe joints) so it doesn't impact the data or the advice.

Let us know if you have any questions when you get skiing and the team can help you out if you need anything

If you can get to a sports podiatrist, then that would be a good start. They will analyse your gait, alignment, stance, lumps and bumps, and give you a much better idea of what is wrong. Any of those could have changed from a foot injury. I had real foot problems, but was lucky enough to find a podiatrist whose son was on the Australian ski team, so he had a very good idea of the foot issues / solutions as related to skiing.

where is the pain?
Is it isolated to one area? is it constant? worse when you do a particular manouvere?

How / where did you injure your foot running? Is the pain pain in the same area?
