Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Best monoskier I ever saw in real life was Paddy Ashdown, New Year 1989-90 (I think) in Flaine.
He was really good!

@WindOfChange, I mono'ed down the Wall once, 1989-90. Mate was in jeans and gaiters. (he'd tried* techwashing them for DWR.)
*Doesn't work...

Did I see those French guys in that video switching to a snowboard stance? That's what I did, once Regis led the way.
It took me until 1989 as snowboard technology was horrible (mostly the boots, but also boards without edges weren't that great on piste).
I did do a couple of "walls" in Europe (Tignes, Swiss) and some other stuff. Anything skiers can do, you can do on a mono. Yeah, not the
snowplough, but there are other ways to tow a sledge.
My mate Greg still rips on the mono, although the last shot of him I have is from December 28 2006, at least we were past powder suits by then:
It was bigger than I made it look. Dodgy looking arm action, but he landed it.

See quite a lot of guys here on them. One old guy rides a skwal which is very rare.
