Poster: A snowHead
|
Planning midterm next year. Looking for Family friendly, reasonably high so guaranteed snow, within 3 hours transfer from Geneva. We hate huge queues in the morning if bottle neck at the resort so happy to go higher or smaller resort to avoid this. All intermediate skiers, more on piste than off. Have done a mixture of hols with the kids but am thinking self catered possibly is the ideal...in a village so dining out options. Any ideas on sourcing accommodation or recommendations? Thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Once you have decided on your resort - a big choice since there are a lot of resortas within 3 hours of Geneva - then visit the accomodation part of the resort's web site and start searching. Most of the accommodation will not be announced until Spetember or October so do not be dissapointed if you don't find anything immediately. I fact I wouldn't bother looking until then anyway.
BTW what do you mean by "Midterm" do you mean the half term holidays from Early Febuary to early March?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@huntcarrigroe, Don't go to France if you're talking Half Term. Try Chalets Direct if you're thinking of doing Self-Catering. Use the Solutions Room to post your requirements and the owners will come to you. https://www.chaletsdirect.com/

Thanks for that, chalets direct has been good, although most responses are catered more than self catering. Have one catered option in Les Carroz, although our pref would be prob be self catered...Les Gets, Morzine-Avoriaz, but is that mad at midterm.
Any recommendations for a self catering option near a village with a decent lift that gets the crowds up and away in the morning? Wide slopes that deal with crowds if busy...
Don’t think I could book flights and wait on accommodation til Oct, prefer to have it all sorted
