Almost certainly as a reaction to other areas/countries shutting down. If Switzerland remained open for skiing the would be inundated with desperate skiers.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Arosa/Lezerheide and Flims/Laax now both confirmed closed tomorrow on their websites. Laax includes an apology saying the canton law required closure on Monday, but federal law requires immediate closure.
Davos seems to be holding out, but maybe they just haven’t updated the website yet

You know it makes sense.

Yep, just updated. Apparently in Arosa we can still do cross country skiing and snow shoe trails. Might have to give that a go tomorrow before we fly home on Sunday...

It’s a sad end to the season but considering the context feels to me like the right thing to do. Hopefully the Swiss government will support local businesses to ride out the financial pain they’re going to suffer. Hopefully the decisive action will mean a faster return to normality. Stay safe everyone!

Just back from Zermatt, which closed on Friday. Very sad. Restaurants limited to 50 including staff. Hotels restricting access for meals. A couple we knew had to eat dinner in their room due to this policy.Skis being put to bed. Let us all hope we can look forward to skiing in 2021. Best wishes to all and indeed stay safe.
