 Poster: A snowHead

With everything else going on this seems like a rather pointless question... but I noticed on my Easyjet check-in email that magnets are banned on planes. My new Anon M2s obviously have a magnetic lens swap system. I'm assuming the ban is on "larger" magnets and nobody is going to care much about these? Would it be safer to put them in my check-in suitcase or carry them in my carry-on?

I bet there are all sorts of magnetic catches on handbags etc, I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve taken my Anon M2 goggles on Easyjet before without a problem.

That's true. Did you put them in check-in bags or carry-on? I have a hard case for them.

Carry-on bags, I just tuck the goggles and lenses into my helmet, and often push my gloves in there as well to give them some extra cushioning.

They seem pretty strong to me! Although I was trying them on earlier and pulled the strap out of the goggles, eek?

Slightly off subject, but I’ve always been averse to anything magnetic as I normally ski with a transceiver (touring, off piste etc). A strong magnet is going to mess with the field lines produced by the transceiver, reducing the accuracy of the searchers transceiver.
While on the helmet it’s probably not a issue due to the separation, but if you have the lens in a jacket pocket it’s not going to be far away from the transceiver.
