Just got the phone call from the apartment owners we'd booked with for Easter...bug!

Just had resort rep (St Anton) confirm this. Resort shuts Sunday, Mooservert shut already. Snow is good though. Also our room has a good supply of loo rolls, so not entirely bad news.

Just had Crystal email about Obergurgl closing - was due to fly out on Sat. Thought travelling still a little risky but better sooner than later and were planning to be careful while flying.

Currently in the zillertal.. (Mayrhofen).. News came out during dinner tonight. After dinner no staff to be found anywhere, turns out they were all atvan emergency staff meeting. Resort shuts as of Sunday and all accommodation shut as of Monday. All hotel staff are now unemployed.
Gutting for all the staff, hotel bar is full of them after being called in

Good it’s all clear now. Had to start driving tomorrow night, won’t, full refund, see ya next year on the slopes.

On 12 March 2020 the regional government of Tirol decreed new preventative measures aimed at combating and limiting the spread of the Coronavirus. All cable cars and other ski lifts in Tirol will close at the end of the day on Sunday, 15 March 2020. Accommodation providers (hotels, apartments, private rooms, etc.) will close on Monday, 16 March 2020. Further details will be given by the regional government in a press conference at 10:00 on Friday, 13 March 2020.
