Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Flims / Laax recommendation

No, nothing to do with movies...

Staying in Flims for a long weekend with my wife in a few weeks time. Wanted to ask for recommendations for restaurants, bars, things to do etc.

We'll mostly be snowboarding by day, but certainly up for some nice evening meals, probably mixing it up with 2 or 3 different places.

Anything we should take in or avoid?

For what its worth we're staying in Flims near the two lifts in town by the looks of Google Maps

Nice Italian food in Veneziana, a short enough walk from Flims Dorf, always good for an evening meal - can be very busy so you may need to book, although off peak season it'll be fine. We've had a few nice evenings in Ella's in the Stenna centre, and there is also the restaurant of the Hide hotel, which was pretty nice but reasonably pricey. The Legna bar at the end of the home run to Flims dorf is always good for a post ski beer and in fact does a nifty lunchtime burger. We've also had some nice meals in Hapimag as well, they run fondu or raclette nights a few times each week which can be good. Enjoy!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks both. We're staying at the Hide Hotel, but like the sound of your other recommendations. Will check them out.

Fingers crossed the big bug doesn't close things down for us.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We stayed in Laax back in 2010. Had great modern European cuisine at the Signinahotel, but menu looks like it has changed now. Also enjoyed Nooba for pan-Asian stuff. Not especially authentic, but a nice change from the usual ski resort fare. Both of these are in the Rocks Resort bit near the main Laax lifts.
