Poster: A snowHead
|
Next Friday I embark on a Kitz/Zillertal/Serfaus/Arlberg trip. Looking for a better source than each area's own website. Ideally in English, though numbers are numbers. Suggestions please & thanks.

Bergfex website is great, (use translate in Chrome to get English) ...or use the app which is my go-to: uses zamg which is the Austrian weather service.
Detailed 9 day weather, webcams, precip. radar, local weather recording stations for detailed stats

@Scooter in Seattle, https://wepowder.com/en is pretty good for a ski focused site especially Morris' forecasts which come out every few days depending on the weather situation (the detailed figures less so). The weather thread here is quite good though can descending into bickering. All the various weather sites and apps (and resort websites) use data from one of two models so there is little difference between any of them. All of the various snow forecasting sites / apps tend to overestimate snowfall but the general weather forecasts are usually about right. Personally I use https://www.wetteronline.de/wetter/st-anton-am-arlberg (change the location in the box at the top, there is an app too), in English https://www.snow-forecast.com/ is as good as any though folk have their own favourite sites.
If you want more techie detail have a look at https://www.wxcharts.com

+1 for Bergfex
Or www.skiarlberg.at/en which has been pretty accurate for its shorter-term forecast.

Super helpful. I looked at a lame-appearing fct site yesterday and it told me I'd be testing the goretex for the first week. I was in a funk until cocktail hour. These sites look great and the fact that their forecasts are more favorable makes my day. Thanks for the assist.
