I don't know if anyone has posted this before, but there seems to be an impressive amount of ski movies on UK netflix
McConkey, art of flight, supervention, WE, into the mind etc

I must of watched every ski related movie on there now, much to the detriment of work that gets done at work, need a few more now.
McConkey must be one on the best Bio-documentary around.
Anyway others include:
Tracing Skylines
Mount St Elias
All I Can
There are quite a few high mountain climbing related films to if that interests you.
US Netflix has a series on the making of The Art Of Flight, which I actually found much more interesting than the film, but it doesn't look like it's available on the UK site.

@ArcticFox1, you can access the US netflix by using an app called holla, or any other VPN device, which effectively pretends to make you computer appear in the US.
After all it is free

@Feast, +1. Great film.

Have watched a couple of ski movies on Netflix, such as:
- Downhill Racer: The 1847 classic starring Gene Hackman and Robert Redford.
- First Descent: Made by Universal pictures.
- The Last of the Ski Bums: Dick Barrymore made one of the best movies of all time.
However, can't find more recent movies like Penguins of Madagascar online.. any suggestions on where to find such flicks?
snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

Thanks for the heads up - will check them out!
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Thanks! I'll have to remember that
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Check out valley uprising. Not a ski movie, it's about the history of big wall climbing in Yosemite.
You know it makes sense.

I'm eagerly awaiting "Avalanche Sharks" to appear on UK netflix.
I mean what more could you need - a bikini contest in a remote ski resort and man eating snow sharks awakened by an avalanche

Not netflix, but here's my current "longer" youtube ski/board videos:

Blimey, knew those two were old, but not that old...

Love the JP Auclair street segment from All I Can, watch it on average once a month on Youtube!!
Don't use Netflix but Art of Flight and the like are available on Red Bull TV site, think they may have Days of my Youth now too (and probably the Making of Art of Flight that arcticfox mentioned). I also managed to find The Recruitment & The Masquerade on Youtube/Vimeo, both from Sean Pettit and a bit conceptual with a sort of 'plot' running in the background. Interesting idea and I quite enjoyed them, in particular The Recruitment...although not sure they'll be to everyone's taste.
FYI this 2 year old thread was revived by a purveyor of canned pork products (now deceased) - but don't let that stop you
Doesn't really matter, good way for people to give a heads up on what ski films are about, fine by me.
Incidentally I have no shame in having seen Chalet Girl more than once.

Chalet girl gets a lot of flac but bill nighy is great it in.
Feel good British film.
Doesn't deserve the criticism imo
I admit to watching it with the kids at least once a year.
Another one we watch is frozen, not the Disney one but the wolves one

Another vote for Chalet Girl. More realistic than weathercam's relatives witterings about seasonnaire life.

@5pike, yes! Love that resort section, it's just a bunch of mates having a laugh and messing about. In the same vein is the Dream Trip video that Salomon did last year, you get the feeling that the guy who won was genuinely getting on well with the pro skiers.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

@SnoodyMcFlude, not seen that Dream Trip video will have a look this weekend.
If you want to see a bunch of mates touring having a laugh while skiing, take a look at the Keep Your Tips Up series Sean Pettit made for Redbull. Series 2 Episode 1 was just shown this week, but heres a link to a playlist of all the Series 1 epsiodes https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnuf8iyXggLGmH5Co4w5YpJfwbQe9gPTj

Force Majeure is on there. Not really about the skiing, but if we're counting Chalet Girl...

Has the purveyor deleted their post? I didn't revive it!

Another vote for Force Majeure. Very different, and not really about skiing, but quite nice for location spotting in Les Arcs.

It does have some darkly comic moments. And I love the ending.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@suggul, yeah some laugh out loud moments, no wonder your 1st wife left you was a good one.
Cinematography was good and the closed in feeling was very intense.
Won't be everyone's cup of tea but gets a thumbs up from me, cheers for recommending it
