Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

My friend and I are think of doing this next year, has anyone else done it, any advice? Thinking of staying in Wengen or Murren if it’s not too expensive. I imagine prices are inflated that weekend.

Did you watch Ski Sunday on 02/02? It looked great fun. Don’t rule out Lauterbrunen in the valley rather than Wengen

I think I’ve done 14?

Most of the good accommodation is booked on departure from the previous year. Many people are regular. It’s a great laugh but I was becoming increasingly slow (and never was very fast to begin with) and it now conflicts with another commitment. Which is a great excuse Happy.

Lauterbrunnen can work, and is a lot cheaper. Wengen likely to be too much of a logistics hassle, although regularly Wengen DHO members compete.

Entries can also be tricky these days. It’s a slightly complicated system.

2/2: most hotels in Mürren work on full week bookings. A few don't, but that's cos they aren't quite as nice. Lauterbrunnen much more flexible.

Entrywise, unless you personally know a Kandahar club member, get it in as early as possible. I first did it as an independent when competition for places wasn't quite so fierce.

As an alternative, cheaper, easier to get into, energetically less demanding (no uphill), you could look at the Belalp-Hexe. Also much fun. Accom in Birg.

You are best to search for accommodation now either an aprtment depending on length of stay or hotel .Staying in Mürren is better for obvious location reasons and for the celebrations !!

Plenty of choice, just two examples -

Alpenblick - http://www.alpenblick-muerren.ch/
Eiger Gueshouse - https://www.eigerguesthouse.com/

Any other questions just fire away

I would also join the FB page of the https://www.facebook.com/thekandaharskiclub/ (they are on Twitter and IG too)

@Chris Brookes, Alpenblick a good suggestion, Edelweiss (I think) often has places.

Unless it's been a poor year, Emma at the Guesthouse will already be fully booked, probably with a waitlist.

@Chris Brookes, how very unusual!

In which case an excellent suggestion. Just watch out for men in kilts.
