Poster: A snowHead
|
Starting to look at next year and Bormio has come onto my radar.
Cheap flights available for Christmas. Not sure if we would be “allowed” to go at Christmas... but would like to see what it offers? How snow sure is it early season (comparatively)?
Any recommendations for accommodation suitable for family’s?
Any catered chalets people know of? Looking at DIY not TO.
Many thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Ooh thanks @ado, my search had turned up lots of mentions but not with enough detail
@Bones, thanks for the heads up.
Of course Feb half term is a possibility but flights prices aren’t out.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@NickyJ, It may be busy at half term too, depends which week you would want to go. Snowsport England hold races there then.

Its a loverly town and place to ski about imo, I spent the week out working with Snow Sport England for their champs a few years back. I would avoid that week if you can as they close off a lot of the better runs for the week. The night skiing is also rather fun if your there when its running.
Its also a pretty easy drive from Malpensa if your hiring.

Love Bormio, used to go when the kids were racing. For self-catering we stayed several years at Chalet Tania, nice accommodation, parking, good ski room. Nice. Proper town, some good restaurants, high. Santa Caterina is nearby for a day trip. Id go
back. Not a quick transfer but easy (and scenic) drive from Milan.
