Poster: A snowHead

Probably a different way of asking the same question a lot of people have asked but here goes....
Been using original soul 7’sfor last 4/5 seasons and need a little more edge grip for on piste when it gets hard packed. Last week it only snowed a few inches during the week and last days of the week I was fighting to hold an edge rather than enjoying the skiing on the steeper hard packed piste. I have used them for so long I am aware of their limitations but they are so much fun on soft groomers and also off piste.
Decided I need something that will give me a bit more edge when needed and my research is telling me to go to the HD soul 7 but thought I would put it out there before purchasing.
Reason why I enjoy the soul 7, fun, easy, forgiving ,not tiring, ski anywhere but caution needed on icy/very hard pack.
What I don’t want... a tiring ski, a very stiff ski, piste only ski
Me.. 5’9, 90kg, fairly aggressive skier, 50+weeks skiing, can’t be bothered with taking 2 types of ski and gave up with hiring many years ago.
There is massive choice available and I believe all skis now are good skis and it’s down to preference for most people. Some that I have looked at but not tried are head kore, Salomon QSt, blizzard rustler 10, Nordica enforcer and atomic vantage.
Thoughts from anyone, good or bad are appreciated.

I have a pair of the original Soul 7s, have only tried the HD indoors but didn't like them nearly as much.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Take your Soul 7s on your next trip and most of those on your list will probably be available in rental shops for you to try.

My wife got the Kastle FX 96 (W) for Xmas and has not taken out her Soul 7’s since. Much better in mixed conditions and on piste and doesn’t give up much in powder either.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

You probably should consider the Whitedot (Delinquent) Altum 104 - all the fun of a funshape but with a bit of oomph when you need it.

Black Crow Daemons. Very good on piste - last two weekends were hard on north facing Titlis. Were fun in Nov/Dec powder

Would have though BD Atris had more of the playful character @MogulMonkey, is after (than the Daemon)?

@jedster, you might be right. I never skied on Atris.

ive got the soul 7 HD, fantastic skis, hold edge on ice for me, rattle a little when fast flat out but not when carving, last new year 2018-2019 i did use my old piste skis because it was mainly just thin hard snow nd i had the option, however I did use them there for the first day and they were fine. Id not want them any softer than I have so goo for me. Im 88kg and fairy aggressive in carving, love them off piste, perform very well or well enough in crud.

I have original soul 7 and i love them. Not good early in the morning when the slopes still hard and icey but brilliant for what they are designed for.
I am in a similar position and I am ready to try something new I also use mine for touring and have been looking at the black crows Ferox free bird. Whats people views on theses
