When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all.

I have been sking on the same old skis for longer than I care to think (dynastar legends 8000). But how edges have given out and torsion along the length is more than I want.

SO TIME FOR NEW SKIS

But problem is have not been in the market for skis for a long time and thing have moved on so much. So have gone to glisshops website to get some ideas and put in filters Man, advanced/expert, All mountain. I have skied on Dynastar for the last 45 years but happy to try anything. I ski on and off piste on all slopes but not interested in park skiing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@ntfarmer, next time skiing find a shop that will let you hire a pair each day and then when you find the pair you really like buy them!

Or go to one of these ski test days if you can.

If you like Dynastar and are looking for an All Mountain Ski - You could do a lot worse than look at the Legend X88

yes I was thinking the same ref trying out at ski hire shops. Awaiting call back from daughter who is working a season in Tignes for Mark Warner to see if the hire store they are tied up with would be willing to help. hopefully as we are going out to see her at the end of jan the shop should have plenty of choice to play with but not sure how many might carry black crows.
