@hjd98, Aldi have their skiwear in stores as from today it's often very good value. If you're interested make sure you get there to the store asap - they tend to sell out very quickly and it doesn't get restocked!

I would take an even number of socks. Why do you need two midlayer tops? If one wears out then buy another in the resort.
May I suggest you get some specialist ski trousers.

2 pairs of goggles or at least 2 lenses stormy and brighter.
Should be able to get a shell jacket for under £90. Try Decathlon or Dare2Be/Regatta clearance (aim for something at least 15k/15k). Micro puffy - also Decathlon also a good idea.

Aldi or Lidl for real cheap stuff. Depends on what weathers you plan to go out in. If you plan on going out in the coldest, windiest days then you may want to invest more in the jacket and gloves especially.
Base and mid-layers can be picked up cheap at somewhere like Sports Direct.
Gloves aren't worth scrimping on. But then you can pick up a pair of silk liners or similar really cheap and they will do a good job.
TK Maxx is good for more high end brand stuff at cheaper prices. I've picked up a pair of Dakine and Spyder Salopettes from TK Maxx.
Ebay could be a good bet. A lot of first time skiers spend far too much money on expensive gear. Go for 1 week and never go back. I picked up a brand new Eider soft shell for £30.
Just keep an eye out for a good deal.

Thanks! I did have a look in Aldi this morning and picked up what was left in my size! Base layers, mid layers and socks have been keeping me warm today - hopefully they'll hold up on the mountain!

Thanks for the advice - this is helpful stuff! I did pick up a few things from Aldi and Lidl - including gloves, but maybe I should look into something else!

@hjd98, you can often pick up good quality 2nd hand gear on local Facebook buy and sell forums. Once you know where you’re going post up an ad for anything you’re missing.

Thanks! I will be getting myself a buff! I'm undecided on the helmet. The company I'm working for say they will provide a rented helmet by request, but say they think it's nice to have your own considering their helmets have been worn many times before. Any thoughts on this?

I've got a funny shaped head and always struggled to get cycle helmets to fit properly so I bought my own. Could always pack another buff to use as a helmet liner....

Get your own. Get a comfortable one (you'll wear it a lot) and don't skimp on it, it's safety equipment afterall.

It's my first season too - I have already 1 full kit for standard week's holiday. Just got a second set of jacket, trousers and gloves, but shell instead of insulated... snapped some bargains from eBay, sportspursuit and TK Maxx. RPP for these would be £840 but cost me £270 
Some people talk wonders about merino so got some extras base layers from sportpursuit.

More gloves so you can vary which you wear according to weather / conditions and because some days they may not be dry by the morning.
Earlier advice on liners is good. It's also a good way to adjust to the conditions eg by having (artificial) silk liners, running gloves, normal (ie non ski) gloves all interchangeably used as liners.

If you're going to stay up in the Cote d'Arboz, then take a good sun hat and some sunglasses, as it's v.sunny up there in the spring.
You might want to borrow / rent some snow shoes as towards the end of the season ( When Chery Nord is done) there's some great treks up the Col du Raty.
