Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski advice Dobermann Spitfire Ti

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I’m looking for ski advice for my husband, he’s done some research and has come up with these:

Dobermann Spitfire Ti

He’s an advanced/expert skier, very fast, and can ski anything.

It’s for on piste only (we are more risk-averse since having our 3 children!)

Any opinions or suggestions? Puzzled

I would think that would to the trick. I haven't ski'd them but would class myself in the same category and I have just bought the Head i.Speed. I have also tried the Atomic x9's which are in the same bracket and they are good too. Probably not much between them apart from the graphics, so go for it.

What does he normally ski on? I would imagine that he has tried all sorts over the years if he hasn't already got a pair and must have a good idea of the type of ski he enjoys/radius/sidecuts etc.? I hired for years and had a sliding scale depending on the hire shop - I eventually narrowed it down to the i.speeds but didn't mind Blizzards (of the same shape) or Rossignol (Long Turns). I don't like anything from Salomon and haven't tried Fischer or Nordica as they didn't appear in the shops very often.

@Skigirl1000, Great ski, I've had a couple of incarnations of this brilliant ski!!

2 questions, how much does he weigh? What length of ski is he after?

Please ………… do not pre-conceive that the Dobermanns are like "normal" piste skis …………………………. think ……. "thug"! Toofy Grin

@Skigirl1000, with certain exceptions, desk research is no substitute for testing.

That said, Nordicas do seem rather well built if you want something a little more "demanding". I have skied a few of their FIS race models and they are rather more fun than some others.

That may or may not percolate down into their recreational ranges but (despite my disdain for reviews) I get the impression that it does. Which is a good thing.

@Skigirl1000, I've got a pair and love them. I'm at a similar level, and similar risk adverseness!!! I teach in a fridge too, but save the Ti's for the mountain. I've had a few different skis in the past but these are my favourites by far.
