Snow Reports
FAQ
Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

IASI instructors (maybe other non-BASI organisations too?)
What have you done about personal insurance?
Who provides such a thing?
Obviously

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@telford_mike
, yes - and AIUI so do BASI
I am IASI - who do not provide any cover and am wondering what other IASI members do in terms of Professional Indemnity and/or personal liability. If anything at all?
Maybe we are covered by the organisations we work through - which is a question I am asking of those bodies.

@Ray Zorro
, If you are working for a ski school they typically will have insurance but if you are working independently an IASI L3 or L4 license is of little use as getting your own PI is +£400.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Snowsport Scotland have a great PL insurance policy (professional) and you can have your quals recognized through an equivalence process. If you hold an L4 you can go for the recognition process with SEFRI (swiss gov) and then join Swiss snowsports as a Brevet federal (equivalence) and purchase their PL insurance (CHF 160) Most L1 -3 work for organizations who have an insurance policy for their instructors. If you are L3 or L4 working independently then you will find a company who will cover you but it will be more expensive) BUT if you are working as a professional £400 is not a bad.

Snowsport England may possibly be an option depending on your level and requirements.
