Poster: A snowHead

Looking for catered chalet preferably Italy or Austria but realise it might have to be back to France again. Feb 8th 2020. We are a family of 11 plus a baby of 6 months. We also need a short transfer which we can arrange ourselves if needed. Can anyone recommend or help in the search. We have a reasonable budget but not super luxury. All good skiers so a decent size area is preferred.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Are you looking for a whole chalet to yourselves, or just a chalet with enough room? If the latter, I'd suggest Chalet Brio in the Grand Massif. Spent a week there in march and it's definitely on the list of places to which we'll happily return

@Gufo, as NickyJ says, Flangesax's place would be perfect for you.

@Gufo, 11 fit perfectly Haus Susanne and they have catered option.
We stayed there in Feb just gone and had a lovely time. We were a party of 13 and pretty much maxed it out. You per head price will obviously be higher than ours but still think it will be very suitable.

How handy is it for lifts and what is the ski area like ? We have enjoyed Les Gets in France as well as La Rosiere. Looking for a change now as family increasing and getting more confident.

It is part of Ski Amadé- Radstadt is one of the smaller areas. We hired a car to make live easier getting to different areas under the region. Parking at lifts we free and plentiful.
We had all our children booked into lessons one radstadt in which they progressed well.
I haven’t skied in Les Gets or La Rosiere
Skiing is lots of tree lined skiing and we really like the area. It was more disjointed in needing to drive to the different areas rather than linked up.

@ Nicky j. That is very helpful. Looks great to me but distance from slopes and having to take ski bus may not suit everyone.

@Gufo, the beauty of Ski Amadé is the ability to ski a different area each day. There are some large interlinked areas such as Schladming, Flachau/Wagrain/St Johann, Hochkönig, but you're not limited to these areas. Staying somewhere central like Radstadt means they are all within easy reach. Hire cars from Salzburg airport are good value, especially for a group where it often works out cheaper than the cost of transfer buses which are charged per head. So you simply drive to a different ski area each day, park for free at the lift base stations.
