Hi,
Ive come into a bit of money and think its about time to upgrade my skis.
Im currently skiing on a pair of these beauties which I absolutely love but they are getting on a bit now and Ive just snapped the bindings on one of them so looking for something similar to these but shiny and brand new:

Any recommendations?

blast from the past, Good news is there are lots more skis in the SUV category these days - question is how bold do you feel. personally I'd point you at Whitedot "Delinquent" Altum 104s for a ski with similar spirit and versatility.

Cheers, yeah they are a bit old
Ive been skint for most of my life and could only ever afford old second hand pairs, I bought them probably around 2010 so they were old to start with. You should have seen the looks I used to get rocking up to the lifts with my old GS skis that I skied on until then.
The White Dots look good, I'll keep those in mind and yep Im feeling bold!

Scott Punisher in 104 waist if you are looking at NOS kit for budget as there seem to be a few out there on the shelves.

Yeah all that's a bit boring. The OP has given us a benchmark for us to postulate what the present day equivalents are. Perhaps easier for me as I had those Ti Motherships myself (in fact still have them mounted tele) and to me it was a fun ski that encouraged learning to use it in a new skool way but with camber and edge to make it a legit all mtn tool (in an era when 97 width was viewed as a specialist pow tool by backwards retailers etc) Or think of the Seth which basically ripped the Mothership off or any of that generation of 100mm ish freeride skis.

I realise that.
Recommending suitable skis for for someone else is problematical enough, even knowing that....and I've never been on Line Skis.
If the OP only goes Off Piste occasionally, then I personally wouldn't recommend much over 90mm. Scott The Ski is great, provided you don't over power them etc etc.

Off piste the majority of time if I can get it but as my holidays are limited I take what I can get so theres always a fair bit of piste time envolved too, also ski with mixed groups some of whome are not very good and the thought of leaving the piste is terrifying to them so again I'll often stay with them on piste.
The motherships were abit wide underfoot on piste until Id got used to them but they carve well once you get them up on the edges and Im really happy on that width these days. I love the way they deal with hard cruddy snow though, theyre like battering rams and just smash straight through any hard bad snow
What level skier are you?
Good, been skiing for about 35 years only really limited by my fitness, will charge down pretty much anything on or off piste. just lacking any decent airial stunts
How fast do you ski?
As fast as possible
What do you weigh?
12 stone and Im 6'1"
Max budget
Ideally no more than £500 for the skis but would stretch abit more if I really needed to. As mentioned Ive been skiing on old second hand pairs for the past 10 years and the only new pair Ive ever owned was a set of GS skis I got back in about 1994 so I certainly dont need 19-20 season kit. Id just like something new as in not used by anyone yet but would be happy with some last season bargain

Yes, names abit odd but they seem similar to how you describe your line's. My son has a pair, similar height as you, but 13.5 st and really likes them.
They are good on any terrain, very benign on piste but will play with you on piste if you push them much harder. Obviously not particularly piste orientated they initially feel smeary, but someone with decent techniques can drive them into wide open carvers.
Their float and ease of steering off piste very subtle and natural, we seem to be able to take them anywhere.
We tried them on other's with less skill and all found them easy, seem to have a wide gate of interpretation dependent on how you drive them.

The Nordica Enforcer 100s are an amazing ski that covers every condition. Best all round ski ive used. Considering getting the Pro for next season for a wider ski. or the icelantic nomad 115, J Ski the friend or the black crows anima. decisions decisions.

I try not to join in these threads just saying buy what I happen to own as by and large I haven’t skied on enough skis to be able to compare them to others properly. However the skis that I ski, Volkl 100eights, might suit you very well. Websites like BlisterGear talk a lot about skis being somewhere on the scale between playful and directional, with playful skis being good at tricks, smears, and tight turns in trees and directional skis being stable at high speeds, on piste or off. It sounds like you want a directional ski more than a playful ski and the Volkl 100eight is very much a directional ski. It has full rocker but it is only very slight, at first glance it just looks like the bases are flat, and this means that when you enter a carve you engage pretty much the whole edge of the ski resulting in a very fast and stable ride with virtually no tip flap. If you turn up in resort though and everything is bulletproof then you will probably want to use a different pair of skis, their width means that although they are really very good on piste (and excellent off) they may end up hurting your knees if you use them on piste too much due to the large bending forces that fat skis exert on your knees when skied on hard snow.
For what its worth, I also own a pair of Scott Punishers although in a narrower waist and from quite a few (maybe 10) seasons ago than the model being suggested above. However, if the characteristics of this ski have been carried forward then I wouldn’t say that it is what you wanted. It is pretty soft with quite a tight bend radius and twin tip, none of which do anything to add stability to the ski resulting in a ski that is much less comfortable at speed than the Volkls.

You know it makes sense.

@rambotion, good point - I think back in the early years of this century then "fat" skis were all of a similar nature. Since then both rocker and profile design has come along along with lateral stiffening. Volkl in particular have been good IME at getting a GS feel into fatter skis whereas others might be straight up pivot/slarve fests and some easygoing softies for the aspirant getting into softer snoe. Then there is also the question of finding the special ski, plenty of skis are good enough, special ones change your (skiing) life. The original Mothership was in the latter for me. Ultimately the answer like partners is to demo as many as possible if you are looking for the one, if not the nearest will probably do unless it slaps you around.

I'm a bit tempted by the Enforcer 110s
I was put off wider skis by Rossi experience 88s and Rossi sky7s but then bought some 95mm Head Venturis after hours of online resarch looking for a wider ski with a small turn radius that would give better float offpiste but still carve a tight curve on piste. After a week or two to get used to them, the 95mm/16m radius Venturis are much better than my 76mm skis offpiste and incredibly good at carving, getting them almost perpendicular to the snow.
Now I'm considering something with even more offpiste float, the Enforcer 110s look good on paper with a (I think) 16m radius at 177cm length.

Thanks for the info guys, got some serious thinking to do.
Out of interest does anyone know where I can demo any of these? Castleford used to do demo days but they say theyre not doing them anymore and that Elise Bringham will let me demo some. However, any ski Ive looked at on their site says 'No Demo'
Im based in Sheffield so my only other option is Manchester really.
