I've taken the liberty of copying this review to here as we've just been given a pair by Nordica to give away at the EoSB snowHead and I thought people who haven't heard of them might like to know what Fall-Line said about them.

Or it could just be that Nordica have got it right down to the basics. To be honest, you could jump on any of the current Nordica models and have a blinding run. A deserving winner from a top-line range.

I have the Hot Rod Nitrous and can testify that it is a HUGE amount of fun. Likes to go fast. I was always contemplaing Stormrider XL's but did not get to test them and ended up with the Nitrous.No regrets.

From reading this and other forums, it seems the Nitrous and Top Fuel models have been the more popular sellers and I personally would have thought the 78mm waisted Nitrous adds a little more versatility.

Whatever, someone will be winning a great ski at the EOSB. Shame it won't be me Evil or Very Mad

Agreed. This will take the B3 and stick it's crown where the sun don't shine, Afterburner and Nitrous, that is. Little Angel Available now to those whom are sure it's for them. Little Angel

The Top Fuel was the best ski that I tested in April 2005 last year, it was the most impressive by a mile.

Despite it being 78 underfoot, it felt comparatively quick edge to edge, had good flotation in powder, forgiving in the bumps, and torsionally stiffer than an 18 year old male on Viagra, meaning that it held an edge on those high speed GS runs.

it appears the Eliminator has a Sidecut: 119-74-104

so interesting to see how it performs in the deep with it being sub 80cm width underfoot

Another to add to my list to hire next week for one day's skiing though!!

Eliminator and Modified: both 74 at the waist and same dimensions everywhere else. Modified has some layers of metal which I assume makes it stiffer.

Nitrous and Top Fuel: both 78 at the waist and same dimensions everywhere else. Top Fuel has some layers of metal which I assume makes it stiffer.

Afterburner and Jet Fuel: both 84 (I think) at the waist and same dimensions everywhere else. Jet Fuel has some layers of metal which I assume makes it stiffer.

Re. the Nitrous / Hot Rod, I've only tried (and loved) the Nitrous, but I understand that the Hot Rod (having the metal) is more stable on hard pack and ice but consequently not quite so versatile all over the mountain. The Nitrous is also extremely stable and IMV would be ideal for all but the heaviest and most aggressive expert skiers.

I am not an expert (as you can see) but did my research on these skis. I would highly recommend the Nitrous as a hugely fun, aggressive but also forgiving ski that can go anywhere. It seems the whole range is superb though.

However, I'm surprised that I haven't seen many of them out there on people's feet. Didn't see any of the Hot Rod range in Serre Chevalier and only one or two people with them in Winter Park. Would be interesting to find out how well they have sold this season, especially compared to a perennial favourite like the B2 (which were everywhere, like Starbucks).

Those over on Epic seem to love the Hot Rod range.

I'd think the shovel might help out there a bit, and it wasn't so very long ago that 74mm was wide..hence the XX's and Intuitiv 74..

Sounds like it has the making of a good all round plank to me
