Hi can anyone recommend a 4Star hotel or just a recommendation about a good quality place (+good for families) in Cervinia, needs to be central/close to the lifts, thanks

I have never stayed there, but recently been looking at the Albergo Edelweiss. 3 star but looks and sounds -on trip advisor- better than some 4 star in the town. Central and with a shuttle to and from the slopes. Crystal use it and seems good value. The hotel wanted 1400 euros per week for a twin room, Crystal for the same week was £820 inc flights from Brum and transfers. www.matterhorn.it

We stayed at the four star Hotel Europa last March. Room was fairly small and lacked a bit of storage/clothes hanging space but the food was very good. Bar was ok if lacking a bit of atmosphere, but a very comfortable lounge.
Very close to the slopes, lifts etc. Handy for other hotels and bars.

Punta Maquignaz - on the main street, short walk to the slopes. very good restaurant...

Hotel Excelsior Planet, we’re currently on our third visit, lovely hotel, fantastic food, definitely 4 star in terms of service.

A superb Hotel . With pool etc . Only problem is not central in Cervina BUT has fleet of Land Rover defenders to ferry their clientele back and forth to the lifts .

Baita Cretaz - A nice, small hotel basically on the piste. Good fun trying to climb the 200m or so up frozen corduroy after a good skinful in town. For the more sensible, the proprietor will give you a lift in his skidoo.

I would also recommend the Excelsior Planet. Wonderful hotel and the location is perfect.

We've stayed in the Hotel Compagnoni in the centre twice.
Not sure of its star ratings but the rooms were very spacious.
It's B and B only though but very close to various places to eat.
Few min walk to Cretaz lift
