 Poster: A snowHead

I'm taking my parents away skiing the first week in April. Only going for 4 days over the weekend. Flying from Manchester. Any suggestions as to a suitable resort that is quick on tyransfer time. They're both 60 and last went about 15 years ago (intermediate skiers). Probably looking for a slightly older profile resort as my mum isn't into speed garage any more!
All help appreciated.

How about the Flaine area? Flaine and the satellite villages (les Carroz,, Morillon, Samoens) are close to GVA and access to reasonably high slopes is quick. The satellites are quiet villages (Flaine doesn't look exactly happening, but I suppose it could be), and the ski areas immediately near them are picturesque. If you need to go high, there's some reasonably high stuff above Flaine. Plenty of blues and cruisy reds for them to find their ski legs (and presumably use carving skis for the first time?).

Alpe d'huez or les deux alpes quick transfer from grenoble -don't know whether flights from your neck of the woods. Both high. ADH has a good bowl above village. possible concern south facing but high enough to have gruarateed snow given present conditions

I'd second the Les Carroz suggestion. Your parents should enjoy the atmosphere in the Village.

Jack Hallam, second vote for La Clusaz... or take them over to the next valley to Le Chinaillon; wide open runs with enough variety to keep them amused and a friendly, local feel. Best of all; at the first sign of sun, the local "seniors" are out in force! It can be quite inspiring, realising that you have plenty years left to ski.

Megeve - good skiing for intermediates, pretty village with good restaurants.
