Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So we joined the half’s term carnage for hopefully the final time. We had booked platinum skis and boots - whatever that means. In the ski hire shop on Saturday night it was choc a block, heaving and I’m not really sure we got the right level of boots. It was so busy and We had some issues with boots not fitting very well. I am sure the young chap in the shop was only looking at the sizes of the boots they had available in the shop and not whether they were bronze, silver, gold etc. I was just glad to be out of the carnage in the shop.

I am not sure whether you intended to type "Another F'kin hire issue" or what
or maybe you needed a thick skin
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There's always lots of debate on here about buying versus renting skis, but there's no debate at all about boots. If you buy you'll not regret it.

@alangibson73
, if you booked platinum and you're not totally happy with what you've got then at least you can go back in tomorrow when it's quiet and get properly sorted.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I've always thought that in hire shops the colour just applied to the skis. I think it really confuses (or maybe amuses) the hire shops if someone who doesn't have their own boots has paid for platinum skis. I'd have thought it's pretty unlikely that hire boots will fit well enough to get the benefit from platinum skis.
However, setting aside the colour issue, which I think is irrelevant here, you do need boots to fit. Take them back and swap them for some that do.
