Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

DISSERTATION SURVEY. Help Needed!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, my names Tom Bartlett, i'm a 3rd year Bsc Geography student at Portsmouth University, an avid snowboarder and i'm currently writing a dissertation on the risk perception of mountain users towards avalanches. As part of this i've created a survey for recreationists to complete to better understand the way we assess our risk when on the mountain and our risk perception of avalanches as a hazard. Please if you have 10 minutes to spare can you fill out my survey, the more data i collect the better my results will be (and the better my dissertation will be). I'm really relying on the
snow sports community for data and appreciate every survey filled out. Follow the link below if you want to complete the survey. Thanks.

I would willingly help but so many of the questions are aimed at someone who may venture off piste and/or don`t suggest the answer that I would give. Good luck anyway.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Well if aimed for off piste not much I can add except for I dont think you need to have set up 4 threads for the one survey request.

Done, but had to skip section 3 as there simply isn’t enough info in the photos to make the call (they could all be benign or deadly in that condition, based on what’s under the surface). Section 5 Q1 also didn’t nake much sense - that’s obviously different every day/line.

Yet another unanswerable survey. Most questions the answer would be, it depends on lots of factors not known from the photo. Also, why is everyone over 35 in one age group? There is a bigger age range over that than under, or does the OP think everyone over 35 is old!

Went back for another look, unfortunately simplistically answering the questions, even if you got them "right", as if there is such a thing, would be an indication of poor avalanche risk assessment, as it would be making assessment from incomplete information
