Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any ideas on inexpensive accomodation for the single traveller in Val D'Isere in early April for between one and two weeks? Much appreciated.

Hotel Chamois d'Or with Ski-Val has a single room.

Do try ski-val. I stayed with them a couple of years ago in La Fornet (at the top end of Val).
I shared a room - it wasn't a problem and was cheap.

Thanks for that. Can you give me an idea of the price? I have called Ski Val, they only have a room in the Chamois d'Or but it is not (my idea of) cheap. £539 for a single room, and that's a special offer, down from £739!! For one week. The entire cost of my half term in Kitzbuhuel was cheaper than that. Is it my imagination or is Val a generally expensive place for accomodation?

Yes, Val D'Isere is expensive for everything. You could go somewhere else?? There are lots of nicer places. If it has to be Val D'I and you want really, really, cheap and ridiculously overcrowded shared accommodation you could try my son who is sharing an apartment there with a ski instructor (BASI I if you want some lessons). They have a room each but bunk up sometimes to rent out beds and save £££££££££££. pikniknak@hotmail.com

G-Rock38, Give John or Owain a call at Dragon Lodge, Tignes (0870 068 0668) www.dragonlodge.com They can cater for singles and their prices are very fair, It's literally one lift, just over the shoulder from ValDisease.

Thanks for that, but I'd like to go to Val so I can ski with the AlpineExperience people who are based in Val. If I'm in Tignes it would be pretty impractical to try and meet them. But then, maybe someone knows of a good guiding/tuition group in Tignes?
