Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Airport Taxi - Geneva to Morzine

If I get a private taxi from Geneva Airport to Morzine without pre-booking, how much should I expect to pay?

I am putting together a last minute trip and booking my transfer in advance may not be possible.

Just trying to get to resort as quickly as possible so thinking a taxi would be ideal.

Exactly how last minute are we talking?

While you can't walk up to the desks at Geneva airport and buy a shared minibus transfer seat I've just popped on to ski-lifts.com (the company I use for Geneva-Morzine transfers) and their website's happy to give me a price for a transfer tomorrow morning (£72.68pp for minimal wait shared transfer/£65.42 if willing to accept potentially longer wait). Hell, I just tried changing it to a flight landing at 6pm today and it was willing to give me (the same) price!

My guess is the taxi lobby managed to get a block on walk-up transfers so, much like a mini-cab in the UK they can only take pre-booked passengers. Hell, drop them a line and I bet you could probably go online while you're waiting in baggage reclaim and book one - though obviously the later you book and the busier they are the greater the chance of no transfers/a wait for a space. You'd always have the fall-back of an expensive cab ride.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Mjit, most companies block last minute bookings say 24 hours in advance to avoid unexpected bookings but you are correct a call to us or other companies, even in the arrivals hall will normally get you a seat.

As said above we can’t take walk ins.

As an indication it’s €170 to Chatel using the local Chatel taxi company, or €200 after 7pm. The walk-up taxi rank at airport once quoted me ~€400 one way.
