be careful, the temperatures have dropped since they did that tour and there is very little to no thaw on south facing slopes during the day - including those exact slopes. You'd best check with one of your guide friends about what they think of future conditions.

Yes forecasts looking very cold and keeps changing.
And this time of year slope aspect / angle of sun = steep is better
PS I do have a guide mate who asks me about conditions over this way

Well you can tell him that the south slopes of the Pic des Trois Évêchés were very hard snow today with virtually no degel due to the wind and temperatures. Also a nasty fall a bit further south from you on a similar slope aspect, a ski tourer fell 300 meters and narrowly avoided going over cliffs. Seems like it might be a ski crampon issue which is why I nearly always switch to crampons rather than couteaux in these conditions.
It was seeing the drop in temperature yesterday that persuaded me to do other activities today. A lot of our ski tours finish in ice at the moment but that is because the trailheads are on wooded paths between 1300-1600 meters where it rained heavily, that I would accept if there was some spring skiing higher up. North slopes are frequently sheet ice. Devil and the deep blue sea.

Would like to get my daughter out with the dogs rather than waste money on a forfait, so will wait and see.
Think I've mentioned before on here I have a nice field of snow, S facing at 15 ° and that always gives me a good idea, better than reading on skitour.fr
Though think I'm still a bit crocked after my fall. Such are the challenges at living at 1400m as opposed to 400m
