Interesting and thanks for the share!
Certainly some photo and if printed out at 300 dpi it would be the size of a football pitch!

@Mr.Egg, yes my second link shows it's from 2015. Maybe someone has since made a photo with even more Gigapixels?

If you go to the big rock directly under the cable car, then move right by two big rocks, now zoom in.
There appears to be a "digital artifact" cat within the rock, accompanied by a detailed block immediately below it!
Is it image amalgamation software or file compression software, or intended digital water mark

Italy is on the left of the screen and France to the right. The station you can see being built is Punta Helbronner the cable car station on the Italian side of MB. the lone gondola you can see runs between Punta Helbronner and the Aiguille de Midi on the French side of MB. This i think only runs in the summer however.

Fantastic picture, I went up the skyway from Courmayuer last year, it's a brilliant trip, the car rotates through 360degress as it goes up each stage, a fantastic panorama.

Found the cat!
Also, if you go straight left from the gondola eventually you'll come across an oldish chap in a red coat walking along. To the right if the man you can see that the snow seems to be mirrored.
Loads of weird stuff in this image. The mirrored effect definitely suggests that it was 'created' rather than taken.

...and the man hasn't left any footprints..., AND the mirroring goes from top to bottom. This is not a true photograph.

Apparently they took 70,000 images over 15 days and then spent 2 months in post production. No wonder there are so many anomalies in the image.

Not found the cat yet but...
..if you go to the aerial on top of the Midi and follow the rocky ridge towards the viewer, then continue across the snow, just before the next rocks you can see a crevasse rescue in progress. Judging by the camera set on a tripod to the left I guess it’s just a practice.

@sbooker, it’s taken from the Petit Flambeau in the Vallee Blanche basin:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/705002231
Run the guided tour to find two climbers on La Tour Ronde and two ski-tourers crossing from the Midi towards the Helbronner.
On the other side, travel along the skyline to the right of the Aiguille du Plan (turn on peak names) and by the last big pinnacle before drop you can see the tail of a helicopter.

That's one stunning picture to say the least. Thanks for sharing. I could spend hours scrolling round finding one amazing scene after another.
