Whilst watching the Eurosport coverage of the cancelled slalom at Val D'Isere this weekend I noticed a pisteur carrying his skis and on the bases in a floro yellow area near the tips was the word "DANGER" (or looked like it). I assume this is a new way to make sure that people seeing a pair or crossed skis then recognise what they mean, as I have come across a fair few who dont know this, rather than a brand of skis I hadnt heard of?

I have seen a Dynastar Mythic "pisteur" edition or similar with this in the base . I think its a contract edition.

@mishmash, it's possibly (?) as Dyna use the local pisteurs as beta testers. lucky beggers. not that I have liked Dynastar since the gold Course...

I think the Crows did something similar as well - I think the (French) pisteur must get an annual kit allowance so it might be a worthwhile market for specific targeting , probably a tax break etc ... there will be a "gilet jaune" ski soon sans doute...

Contract skis for piste patrol. Blackcrows have offered pisteurs the Orb or the Camox with DANGER on the bottom.

I'd be pretty sure they get skis provided for them. Tricky to do the job without them. In the day they used to get alpha and beta test versions from Rossignol and Dynastar, at least the folks in Morzine/Avoriaz did.

Yup these are the ones I saw.
I still like the idea of them being used with the DANGER graphic as a cross pair, works in French and English.
