Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi, I am travelling from Chambery to Tignes on 05/01 and back on 12/01. I was just wondering the best way to get a transfer? I have looked at altibus but I land at 10.30 and altibus leaves at 10.50. The next bus is then at 16.45 or something. I cant seem to find any other shared transfers like Bens Bus that run from Chambery. Private transfer is like £500 so not cheap. Thanks in advance.

mk28, have you tried bus/taxi to station, train to Bourg, bus up from Bourg?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I haven't. I was hoping for something a little easier than that if I'm honest.

@mk28, Ben is not allowed to operate from Chambery. If you don't fancy the faff of the trains I would get a bus into town have a nice French lunch and rock up for the later bus. You could always book the earlier one just in case the flight was early and the baggage handlers work at top speed - I know this is a big ask at Chambery!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Think i might just rent a car. For £200 i can rent a car for a week and park in tignes in a garage.

@mk28, You will pay £80 just to park a car for a week. What is the rush to get to Tignes ?

@mk28, having done that journey different ways, the train is not difficult if unable to find a bus transfer.
I got taxi from airport to Aix les Bains rail station. Train to Bourg S-M. Bus to Tignes.
Unless planning to use a car to travel to other places, it can be a bit of a burden in Tignes. The drive can be challenging if snowing too.
