Sorry if this sounds a bit mad but .....
I am currently interested in a pair of Scarpa Maestrale RS2 ski boots.
I tried a pair on in Ellis Brigham's and nearly went ahead but noticed that the logo on the side of the boot was RS rather than the RS2 shown in other pictures on the web.
So I thanked them but said that I was going to wait for the RS2s to come into stock.
On further research back home I have noticed many adverts for RS2 boots showing an image of a boot with only RS written on it, including the Ellis Brigham one.
I should say the boots look identical.
Also, what leads me to think they are the same boot is that I have seen a review of that boot from 2017 with the RS2 logo, suggesting that the '2' is not a new addition for this year??
Can anyone definitively tell me that an identical looking boot with either an RS or an RS2 logo is the same boot?

@PowderAdict
Thanks ... but the question is .... are they the same boot because from their inception some have RS on them and some have RS2?
The only difference seems to be the logo.
There seems to have never been two versions of the white/black/lime boot?
As I said, it's not an updated version as the RS2 logo was around in 2017.
I think it is just a logo variation, maybe between regions, but I'd like to be sure?
Sorry to be so precise but obviously I want to get the best/latest version but not reject a purchase simply because the '2' was left off the logo.

If its Orange its Maestrale and if its Black / White / Lime it's RS (RS or RS 2 now the same...)

Aaah. Thanks. So there IS no difference.
That new boot looks great but there will always be a new/better one next year .....
Thanks again

From what I recall there was an original Maestrale, which was beefed up in an "RS' model (like some of the other Scarpa RS variants). That was then redesigned and called RS2 to differentiate with the original RS which is no longer in the current line up. So in order to stop confusion they appear to be dropping the "2"- but simple enough to check with them I'm sure.

I have a pair of orange Maestrale 2 and mine DO NOT have the “2” on the logo. Purchased February 2018 in Norway.
Scarpa have most likely added to “2” to the logo and product name to distinguish between the old and new boot. They where both called the “Scrapa Maestrale/RS” and even Scarpa was just calling it the “new” Maestrale/RS at launch.
If it’s the 3 buckle boot, it’s the updated Maestrale/RS 2 with or without the 2 on the logo.
