Poster: A snowHead

I'm having a nightmare trying to find a ski jacket that fits.
I'm 6ft 3 with a 45 inch chest and 34 inch waist. xl will fit me fine in the upper half and length but is like a tent around the mid section. are there any particular brands that have more of a fitted fit? a little more tappered around the midsection?
thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Keep out of the gym and eat more pies - then buy any jacket!

I'm the same size as you and have the same issue, best brand i've found for 'our' size is Killy but it comes at a cost....

@dave_3, my partner has a nightmare with jackets. He's 6ft2 ish but skinny with long arms. He's just bought a jacket from Dynafit which fits well and has long enough sleeves. Others that made the shortlist were ones from Haglofs, Black Diamond and some of the Nørrona range. Forget North Face and Patagonia, they seem to be made for shorter people.

All scandi kit (other than Sweet Protection) seems to be made for tall skinny bearded types.

The Norrona that i've tried appear to be more orientated this way.
You'd really need to try them though to get sizing right without excess material being part of the equation. Definitely with the layers you intend to use or not, they are quite well cut and tailored, though expensive.

@dave_3, some jackets have tighteners around the waste but it's not always easy to see that.
Wearing a rucksack with a waste band helps.
