Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I've used lots of different boot warmers/boot driers in various hotel boot rooms over the years and they've never done any harm to my molded insoles.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@PeterGee, sidas do heatpads that just get stuck to the footbeds.

Only thing with these and the Thermic ones to note is they recommend putting a slit in the toe end of the foot bed to pass the cable underneath rather than on top where it can rub the base of your heel.

It's easy enough to do, I've done it with mine many times and it works a treat.

Don't worry about melting your foot beds, plus heat is adjustable

@PaulC1984, ?

I think the Mrs ones run backwards and had an extra cover put on top.

Was a while ago.

Works very well.

I'm told that heated socks are very effective - no need to alter your boot at all.

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

I've had Thermic heated insole inserts for years and never had an issue.

Having said that a number of instructors I know have switched from heated insoles to heated socks. My concern would be wear and tear, but they have survived a full season of instructing. You can of course buy more than one pairs of socks and switch the batteries.

 And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

The wire/cable in mine feed well above the heal so no problem with rubbing.
My shells, zip fits inners and footbeds haven’t been altered as it is a tiny amount of heat emitted.
I do have a pair of heated socks but they are too thick to fit with my boots so never used Sad
