Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi, sorry if this isn't in the right thread but I'm kind of new here.

I'm basically after any advice possible to give me an idea of what I should prepare for and potentially encounter on my first ski season.

Kind of vague I know but im going in blind so any help/ advice is highly appreciated.

Strong over elbow rubber gloves and a bit of basics in unblocking French plumbing then.

High working hours, low pay, tiny room, filthy roomies, little ski-time, and scrubbing big skids off the dunny at 9am on a Monday morning while everyone else is up to their neck in pow.

Have fun wink

So what sort of advice are you after?

I am guessing it will be hard and not particular stimulating work but on the plus you will get to ski bum your way through when of the great ski towns (matter of opinion excepted) and great ski areas of Europe.

Val d'Isère is just like any other glitzy resort anywhere in the world. If you have money it’s absolutely great. If not, less so. Take as much as you can.

Decide b4 Xmas which is more important to you partying or snowsports. Time in a ski resort is precious live the dream, tolerate the work. If you get a pass it will be your ticket to freedom. Work hard, play hard and get as much sleep as you can. Trust no one but be friends to everyone. There will be good times and bad times all the time.
Take marmite and tea or whatever else warms your soul.
