Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So.... I finally got out and have some evidence to prove it!

But.... since then I have been out a couple of more times.
I'm pretty sure that this set up is a bit short for me and the skis have a mahoosive tip rocker which is not helping me learn as well as I should.
I'm switching between alpine and tele far too much... and then I forget how to tele!

I've done a few deep pow stuff and absolutely loved it!... The feeling of being low in the snow and floating about is just awesome!

I'm going to switch these bindings onto the original skis I purchased.... that's the plan!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

My poor hands nearly suffered frost bite filming the binding faff - it was the faff to top all faffs! And the one time he did topple forwards - I missed it! Ange Very Happy

@flangesax, Good job. Couple of tips... your back thigh needs to be vertical. Front knee in front of, and higher than, back knee. Your body will want to alpine for a while yet... wink

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Focus on transferring weight to your back ski on the lead-change, rather than weighting the lead ski which comes naturally to an alpine skier

A good drill to sense what the back ski is doing is the monomark (Google it) - ski alpine on one turn but don't lead change so you're into Tele on next. You'll use the inside edge of the outer ski in alpine turn and outside edge of same ski in the tele-turn, so you'll find that ski doing a lot of work in controlling the turn (if that makes sense)
