Hi
I am looking for a good low light googles. Next December I will ski in Val Cenis in France. The station is 100% north exposed one and even on a clear day you don't see much of the sun. Last year I had there my Bollé Emperor modulator and... a simple orange screen mask was giving often better results. So... I really look for a good yellow/orange screen googles. A phothromatic treatment would also help with the relief. The budget around 100 eur max (around 90 GBP) I think. What would be your choice?

You can probably just about find a pair of Oakley Prizm Hi Pinks for that price this time of year if you shop around. Alternatively hi yellow type lenses are available from most brands starting at around £20 from Decathlon.

I use these - the XL version.
I have also have yellow sunglass lenses. If it's purely a light issue I use those, only use the goggs if snowing. I prefer to have the peripheral vision if I can.

I have just replaced my old Oakley Crowbar Hi Yellows with... Oakley Flightdeck Hi Yellows.
They are like night vision goggles.
Most manufacturers have the data for the transmitted light through their various lenses. This is a good starting point!

I was looking around and this model is the budget friendly (I ski one week per year ).

I may look other models but the price is too high for now. What do you think about this o2 range? I see there is xl and and XM version. It's about the face size and form?

Any Smith blue prism lenses (which are actually light yellow). Or the next level up, as these are near clear; I think yellow or red prism.

You have to be realistic. A whiteout is a whiteout is a whiteout. There isn't a lens in the world that will allow to ski with great vision. First thing is to have some goggles. In poor weather goggles will stop snow or wind blow through the gaps that occurs around your sunnies. Second up is fogging up of the goggs. If they fog up any goggs with any lens is pointless. I can vouch for the 02's in this regard. Then there is the lens itself. And whether we are talking goggs it boils down to the same thing - how much light they let in (measurable) and the clarity and definition (not measurable). Again, be realistic about the vision obtainable. The 02 is decent enough for a once a year skier IMO.

@Awdbugga, Thanks for the link. I've acquired these which I guess will guarantee uninterrupted sunshine and blue sky days for my next few trips - or maybe not. (Good investment either way  )
