Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Puzzled

Sorry if this question has been posted before, I had a quick look but couldn't find it.

Does anyone know if it is cheaper to buy skis in Canada (specifically Fernie, in about 1 month) or buy them in the UK?

Many thanks

hindlek, welcome to snowHead

Are you looking for specific skis? If so, you may want to look at buying them online and getting them shipped to your hotel in Fernie.

You should find that by late March most shops in the resort will be starting to severly discount remaining stock, so you may get a deal, but maybe not on the skis you were looking for.

hindlek, depends on the ski too.

Some European skis will be more expensive over there.

Thanks for your responses. The skis we've been recommended are Stockli but I think they may be pretty hard to come by in Canada.

hindlek, you'll strugglw to find them out there. There are plenty of other good skis to choose from, don't limit yourself to one brand. Most Canadian resorts, the shops will let you demo beofer buying, and will discount the demoing cost off your purchase.
