Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello, apologies if there is a topic already about this, but I could not find it if there is one.
Does anyone have experience in skiing in Oukameiden in Morocco? Prices, slopes, accommodation, etc? Many thanks

@overlandsite
, welcome to snowHeads
I went there a couple of years ago when we were visiting my wifes family in Marrakesh.
It is actually Oukaimeden, so that is why your search may not have revealed anything.
There were hotels there (but we drove up from Marrakesh so didn't enquire about prices) but there is not guaranteed skiing, so no idea of the hotels were even open? You have to be really very lucky with the weather to be able to ski.
As far as I could see, the slopes are just a few easy greens, straight back down the hill that the lifts take you up. I only saw a few draglifts but I've seen a youtube video with a chair. When I was there, the lifts weren't working so there were donkeys doing the uplift instead.
The kit available for hire dates from the 80's - long straight skis.
If you are already in the area and you hit it lucky with the weather, then its worth doing to say you've skied in Africa. But that is about it!
As with everything in Morocco, you have to haggle with prices and still expect to be ripped off!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've skied there twice before and really enjoyed it.
Drag-lifts lower down but there is a chair lift that goes way up to the top giving you (I think) an unpisted black back down to the bottom. Quite a challenge and amazing views. Went in Jan and Feb I think. Plenty of snow both times. Not surprisingly, it's very easy to get badly sun-burnt!
