Not surprised at all Stanton. It's a lovely country, nice people and great scenery and skiing.

It was pretty busy in February, the first week especially (Wienerwoche), and the great conditions season-long have no doubt contributed.

What??? It’s an awful country with dull, low elevation ski resorts. Just got lucky with snow this year. Will be back to terminal decline next year

Have yor actually been skiing in Austria?
I ask because I've skied Ischgl 1 week a year for the last 10 years, both early and late season and never had major snow issues. Sure the bottoms of the home runs go a little slushy by April and you might need to gt the gondola down if you're there for the last week of April but the majority of the pistes will still be open at the top.

The only place I've experienced this is in France (start of season in PdS 2016/17). At the same time all runs and lifts were open in Ischgl (as a friend was happy to point out).
OK, that doesn't mean EVERY resort in France was green and EVERY resort in Austria had snow but maybe you've just been to the wrong Austrian resorts...

Must be a good season for skiing across Europe - Tignes accom bookings 5.5% higher than last year. Given that all the lower French resorts were going at full tilt by Christmas must mean overall there are a lot more skiers this year.

Just teasing Stanton. I’ve only been to Austria twice and loved it both times - Arlberg in winter and Tyrol in Summer
