Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Pole Replacement Baskets

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi All

I am sure that what I want to do is the simplest thing ever but I do not seem to be getting very far.

I have a pair of Head Intelligence Carbon Fibre ski poles and one of the baskets is broken. I have taken it off and need a replacement basket with an interior diameter of 17mm and outside diameter of roughly 50mm However, I just can not find a basket to fit, this is despite visiting virtually every ski shop in the centre of Morzine and contacting Head directly who were no help at all.

Does anyone know where I can get a basket to fit? This can not be that hard surely. I have a skip outside my house at present and these poles are heading there shortly if I can not sort this out - I seem to have been looking for ages and just getting nowhere.

Any help / advice would be gratefully received.

Surely, surely some shopnjust has a basket that fits? Ask Jaimie in Beanies or Eric at FB sports? Can’t be that hard.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Got my replacements from ebay, quite a lot of choice, search "ski pole baskets",

@Griggs, I'm amazed none of the shops in Morzine could help. Last year in Val Thorens when mini_mg lost a pole basket, the first shop I went into bodged a replacement on from their box of leftovers. Ok, it's round rather than hexagonal, and the poles no longer clip together, but it works. Cost 3 euros, if I remember rightly.
