Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Black Diamond Spares, After Sale Service?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Last week the so called "Cant Assembly", basically the adjustable hinge between the clog and the cuff, fell out one of one of my Black Diamond Factor MX boots. To say the least this somewhat compromised performance!

BD list this assembly in their Spare Parts catalogue on line. However, the website gives no indication of how any of part in the catalogue may be ordered. The UK BD distributor refered me to the European distributor who is ignoring all emails. Does anyone have any experience of getting spare parts from BD?

Alternatively, does any boot wizard out there have another solutaion thay can suggest? The boots are just over two years old and only done about 8 weeks, so I am not inclined to buy a new pair when a part that can fix the issue is apparently made.

@Thorney, I had 2 pairs of BD Cayenne Heated Gloves replaced under warranty in 2012 and 2014 without any issue via the EU Warranty mail address. They didn't even want the failed pairs returned.

I would try contacting BD in the US directly on bdmo@bdel.com, and explain the lack of response from the EU Warranty Team.

I would ask the shop I bought them off to order the part for me, especially if it just fell off

Thanks. However, I bought them in Austria so going back to the retailer is just as much a logistical issue as contacting BD direct. Anyway, after two years they are out of warranty so I cannot really expect the retailer to get involved. I do not expect a freebee, just access to a spare that consists of little more than a fancy bolt, nut and washer.
