Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Goggles

Could anyone recommend some fairly decent goggles within the price range of £40-£70 please..

I have no idea where to start looking, and what to look for (I guess)..

Most important factor would be visibility...

I got some Summit Magnetic goggles. I think the visibility is great and they came with a low light lens which I love. Weren't too pricey either!

best try them on for fit, with both your helmet and your face.

also try to get some photochromic lenses that will give you a good range of light conditions from the one lens

I got the Evolve model, which appears to be on sale now. I think they're £60 delivered with two lenses at the moment. I've never had top goggles to properly compare, but they have good reviews and I am sucker for changing lenses - I even carry sunglasses with extra lenses.

Do you have a Decathlon near you? Good selection of reasonably priced goggles that you can try on over your helmet to see which fit best.

My nearest is Team Valley, and to be truthful, their selection of ski-gear has been extremely basic.. they only really stock their own brands.

Those are very similar....but they have the Prizm Saphire Lens, which is the same base lens, but with a mirror coating. It looks cooler, is still very versatile and slightly more biased toward brighter conditions. Still an excellent choice for wearing in most conditions.

This is the lens I was referring to: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KICOZHE?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=amz07b-21&ascsubtag=S6Te8tRjRxLnMo1Drt6Fsg

The Prizm Rose Lens (less expensive due to no Iridium coating), also copes with most conditions, with a bias towards flat light.

I haven't bought from any of the links, so can't comment on the outlets...though I have heard of Discounted Sunglasses. FWIW. Your link is a good price for that lens.

Here are some Oakley Crowbar with Prizm Rose at a cheaper price....but I'd go with A Frame, as they are much easier to get spare lenses for.

Check out Sports Pursuit website, they have Flash sales every now and again with good discounts on goggles.
I bought a pair of Alphina Turbo GT goggles a couple of years back which have been top notch it all weather conditions.

Smith Squad goggles are worth consideration at the upper end of your price range, the newer models come with their latest "Chromapop" lens technology and also a second yellow lens for whiteout / low light conditions. For example...
https://www.skatepro.uk/320-24766.htm?stockcode=70172430

Having recently bought the Smith Vice which is similar to the Squad but with a spherical rather than cylindrical lens, the only suggestion I'd make is buy a variant with a black or dark coloured frame as the nose bridge of the red frame I had caused a fair amount of reflection on the inside of the lens so I've sent them back and decided at the same time to upgrade to the I/OX as I've got quite a large bonce and the Vice looked a bit small on me with a helmet on.

My wife, daughter and I have these Salomon goggles. They fit medium and large faces (daughter and mine with my wife inbetween) and the mid blue lens is fine for cloud/sunny conditions being an S2 lens. We used them in France this year for the first time and really like them and the quality of fit.
