@Scamper, thanks! I've been in there when staying in Bourg, but as per you and JohnE, tend to lump then together!

@boredsurfin, Ta - we tend to take a lot with us nowadays (works out cheaper) and just top up on way with cold meats, cheese etc. Everything else we can get in Vallandry during week, basically milk and bread.
Sometimes may go down to Bourg on Wednesday late afternoon - bit of a rest if nothing else!

Kosciosco hope you have a great week in LT.
Was trying to decide whether to get 6 or 7 day lift pass - but as it seems we should be able to get there early enough on the Saturday have changed it to 7 day.
Now on our 2nd Sanef tag (wore the first one out)!

@breeze11, there's a couple of hypermarkets in Moutiers, and some just off the main road through Albertville.

@Boris, I take some curry spices, parsnips, brussel sprouts and the contents of my fridge from home and always get the rest in France. My local supermarket doesn't even sell oysters, Super U will have 3 different sorts at least. They even sell marmite now - so it's not all good news.

@johnE, spices and possibly chillies, lemon grass and stuff for a Thai or Se Asian meal (a good Beef Massman or Rendang always goes down well. We'll have our cool box, but usually fill that up in France at Nuit-St-George when we stop for fuel at Carrefour. We will have emptied it of the pork pie supply on the way down.

Had them yesterday in intermarche, I noticed them when I was buying ginger.

@Scamper, cheers, not often I ever manage to find them anywhere in Briancon, I really struggled when I forgot my pot of frozen Rendang paste to get the stuff.
French chillies are also very very mild. Not that long since you couldn't get ginger either

@Hells Bells, I would describe some of the chillies in superU as medium. Bourg is getting quite cosmopolitan these days, but even so I haven't come across pork pies, or a nice piece of wensleydale.

@johnE, not birds eye strength though by any means. Briancon is not as cosmopolitan as Bourg ,despite the growing population from the Middle East and North Africa.

Please could i ask where you would stop for a shop if you were heading for Courchevel? |
Hypermarket size shop in Albertville, just by the motorway, or there is a Supermarket and a Lidl in Moutier (bit more difficult to find - shops not Moutier (-: ). There is also a standard size supermarket just after Moutier on the way to Courchevel, but I have never been to it.
There is a complex of large supermarkets, petrol stations, other shops, McDonalds, Feu Vert (like Halfords), in Chambery just after the tolls at Cham Nord, we tend not to stop there now as a quick shop somehow became 2 hours!

@johnE, regarding a nice piece of Wensleydale, I bought a piece with cranberries in tesco recently. Described on the till receipt as "cheese with bits."

We stop at the Geant Casino, Albertville, just off N90 whenever we are heading to either Paradiski or 3V.

We're hoping to head to La Clusaz driving down, getting the shuttle as soon after the little uns finish school on the Thursday (maybe a cheeky dentist appointment to get them out at lunchtime .
Once in France we'll drive as far as possible before crashing out in the camper van on the side of the road for a few 😴 zzzz. Don't know where, just at an aire on the side of the motorway. Then hope to have a short drive in the morning.
We're returning to the slopes for the first time after kids, who are now 10 & 6. They are really excited.....so are we!!!

@Dan, Good luck with the Aire last time I stopped at night in an Aire I had just got to sleep and a refrigerated truck pulled up by the side of us! The fridge motor ran non-stop

So following a Twitter exchange, Eurotunnel will be trialling a system in Calais whereby traffic will be split at check-in, with those on-time being allowed through PAssport Control and straight to boarding if required. Everyone else will be diverted to terminal and then called through Passport Control as and when train called.
I.e. like UK side and how it used to be in France
Hopefully this will improve things in France as it is the delays at passport controls which cause the delays and frustration

@Hells Bells, It is - sorry I had said trialling but hadn't specified the dates. Lord Surfin had said he'd received an email about trial, I was just interested in what they were actually doing
