Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Yes, I've read the books and blogs. Yes, I've had a training session with @spyderjon. But, yes, I've also copied a recent poster in enjoying a small beer whilst gliding the iron up and down in the garage.
So the cable for the iron knocks the beer off the bench and I react, with ninja-like speed, to catch the bottle (great catch, by the way). But the stationary iron (only a few seconds) has now caused a pig-ugly blister just fore of the toe binding, about 2cm long and 1cm wide.
It's not huge but the iron "rocks" as it goes over it. Fortunately, it's an offspring's old ski, not my Crown Jewels, so I am interested in whether it will be skiable or will I need to do the drill, epoxy, clamp, grind procedure mentioned elsewhere on the web?
I'm gutted because I have been careful to avoid this for many years and now I've let my guard down.

99.9% certain that an internal glue line will have 'gone' as opposed to the ptex lifting off the layer immediately above it - it's usually the layer above that that blows. Only way to tell for sure is to remove a small piece of ptex over the damage area to see if the next layer is flat/sound or not. If it's not then there's nowt you can do about it.
However I'd keep schtum about it as if it's only small then junior won't even notice - and if they do just cook the other ski to match
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
