Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I don't know if this has already been mentioned here (the news article is from 3 days ago), but it seems that German Stefan Luitz who gained his first World Cup win in the Giant Slalom held at Beaver Creek last Sunday
could be disqualified after it emerged he used an oxygen before starting his race
, which is allowed under general World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) rules, but is specifically forbidden under the governing body FIS rules.
If Luitz is disqualified then the win goes to runner-up Marcel Hirscher.

FIS have ruled that Luitz should be stripped of his first World Cup win due to his use of oxygen before the race which is prohibited under FIS regulations.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The major sports bodies just make stuff up.
Some performance enhancers are allowed (like iron supplements), while others are not (like oxygen supplements).
Lot of inconsistency and lack of a quantified structure.

I think you'll find that the controlling bodies of sports do that, they view that as part of their job.

True

Well WADA's own anti doping policies state that sport governing bodies are free to add additional restrictions to WADA's own. Not quite sure what you mean by a lack of quantified structure?
When's all said and done the German team doctors gave their racer supplemental oxygen before the race in contravention of the FIS published regulations.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Luitz (and any other competitor) should be v. careful in their usage of any enhancement, regardless. Don't scoff. You go too far and complications are inevitable......................
