For some strange reason, telemark, as the origin of today's alpine skiing, is not an Olympic sport. Exciting racing with jumps, looms and skating and the parallel slalom is up there with skier and boarder cross.
Would be great if lots and loads of Snowheads would spend a minute and sign a petition. All 30,000+ Snowheads signing would be a truly great achievement.
Jaz Taylor, GB's most successful alpinist last year with 7 World Cup podiums, started it and it would be great to get telemark in the 2022 Olympics.

Done it.
Telemark changed my life 17 years ago when I looked around for something new to try and found myself too old for snowboarding.
Only right and proper that it should be back in the olympics.......like catamaran sailing

is there a petition to make sure telemark doesn't get into the Olympics?
What can be done better or faster, or even just as good on telemarks as conventional skis or a snowboard?

@rogersavery, wot's it like to live without a 'snow soul' . . . Your comment is like a MBA fighter asking "what's the point of Greco-Roman wrestling?". Better and faster isn't synonymous with either human pleasure nor 'entertainment'

@rogersavery, By your logic we should have a petition to remove breast stroke, backstroke and butterfly swimming from the Summer Olympics since those styles are not as fast as freestyle/front crawl.

I think it is probably doomed. Just not enough participation in competitive telemark for it to be of major interest and besides I'm not sure a petition above intensive lobbying among political insiders at the FIS and IOC is the way to go. That said Aerials isn't really a grass roots sport at all ( & has always to may mind been more about providing a sporting outlet for failed gymnasts than skiing) so Telemark deserves to be there over that.

Correct, swimming is the “Ministry of funny walks” compared to pretty much any other competitive sport 
In my irrelevant opinion, Telemark ski is something that people forgot to stop doing, when skiing evolved with better bindings. However, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be in the Olympics.
Also I my irrelevant opinion, if you can’t measure it, count it, or time it, it’s not a sport, its either a pastime or entertainment. If the result if decided purely by judges, then it’s not a sport.
