Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wedze all mountain skis

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We're in Italy for a couple of years so think I should buy my own skis for days or weekends up to the slopes. I don't pretend to be a great skier but I've been skiing for 25+ years and can get down any piste that's open (safely, not in a snowball or cutting up everyone else). I like speed and I like mucking about in powder and need to do this more... I can't help being tempted by the price of the Wedze all mountain ski and wondered what others thought. The only reviews I can find in English are on the Wedze/Decathlon site itself. Or if you think there are other affordable options I need to be able to source them here in Southern Italy...

I'm sure they'll be like most Decathlon kit, does the job, decent design, good value but built to a price point. You'll struggle to find independent reviews.

All depends what you want in performance you'll undoubtedly be able to find higher end branded gear. Places like Sport Conrad etc deliver all over Europe I believe so location shouldn't be a barrier.

I'd imagine its a Rossignol under the branding as given the Look system bindings on all the ones ive seen and they look so very similar in side cut and size.

You might find the choice a touch limiting, as the other chap has said look on Sport Conrad, Eko Sport or Glisshop for their deals on ski packages and you can at least find some reviews on them.

Wot DOTM suggests.

Which ones anyway? widest I can see is only 83mm underfoot and that's not super "all mountain" these days...

I believe for the record that they're usually Dynastar "seconds" for what that's worth (not a lot).

Only 76mm. Really hardly "all-mountain".

I'd think you want to go at least a bit wider for "mucking around in powder".
