Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mount Seymour and Black runs

Considering spending a late morning/afternoon at Mount Seymour. We have done Grouse before so wanted to explore something different. Especially as it seems to get dumped on a lot. My question is around the black diamonds. Do they tend to be pisted, or are they (my nemesis) moguls?

I live on Mount Seymour but don't ski there a whole lot so am probably not a great source of knowledge, but I believe at least some of the black runs get bashed (Unicorn). There aren't a huge number of steep runs and the snow can be quite heavy, but trees are fun.
Cypress is quite a bit bigger.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Try Cypress as he said. I've ridden both there and Grouse several times but never bothered with Seymour. This shot below is from the top of Cypress in December 2016. It's pretty much a locals place which gets busier when it goes dark, week days at least.

None of these places are huge mogul-fests, it's mostly groomed and not challenging.

Easy to drive to from down town, although also accessible by bus (SkyTrain then Sea Bus to Lonsdale Quay and then coach from there, there is a decent coffee shop at the Quay to wait in). The main issue with the Vancouver resorts is the freezing level - you can ride there in the rain (been there, done that), but I'd not really advise that. It's entirely possible to ride Cypress or Grouse and then catch the 18:00 flight out of Vancouver for the UK.... but you will have wet gear to stow in that case which isn't too clever (been there, done that...).
