Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sending Skis

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hopefully someone might have an answer to this as I am tearing my hair out trying to get a reasonable way to send some skis to the north west!

I work 9-5 and thus am not at home for parcels to be collected.

I am sending a cheap pair of skis which were listed here but were purchased off the forum by someone in the north east. They nor I wanted to spend more than about £25 to get them delivered

I arranged shipment via Parcel2Go who unfortunately appear to use Hermes for some of their deliveries, particularly for weekend collections. On 2 consecutive weekends, they have failed to collect these as the driver has effectively lied about me not being in/able to collect.

I have explored other couriers but none I can find either collect on weekends or allow a timed weekday collection (e.g. 9-12am) or allow me to drop the parcel off somewhere for it to be collected.

The closest I got was UPS who I could do a drop off for but the skis have to be in a box. I have no box big enough for them and no ability to collect one locally!

Interestingly my new skis which are replacing these were delivered in a timed way via DPD in bubble wrap. I have used the same method for these but tried DPD and this too big for them allegedly.

Apologies for the rant but if anyone has any solutions that have worked for them then I would be very grateful!!

Hermes have lots of places you can drop parcels off in most areas. When I use Hermes (which I only do for low value stuff) I drop it round to a local convenience store.

Yes, they do and I do (well have...) used them regularly. This is too big for a parcel shop they tell me.

Will look at Interparcel, thanks

@mmgg1988, Just gone through same nightmare, ended up making cardboard box out of 3 boxes lashed together with loads of brown tape and using UPS I asked a friendly business to be a collection point, bol.
