Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi Folks,
Anyone got access to snow records for Les Gets / Morzine the week before xmas over the last 5 or so years...?
Thinking of going with the family for xmas this year - 23/12 - for a week so would like a bit of an indicator
All info gratefully received.
Many thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

shockingmoment, go to the Ski Club of GB website you'll find historical snow records for all resorts. Morzine is a little low IMO for consistent Xmas snow.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'd agree with David, s/moment. I wouldn't risk either resort in terms of advanced booking for Christmas. A significant risk of no or little snow.

Thanks chaps. Ski Club GB is 1 year only unless you're a member!
Where would you suggest?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

shockingmoment, wait for the responses here, actually! I'm a huge Morzine/PDS fan but I'm not sue I'd recommend an advance Christmas booking. The Xmas NY record is quite variable. I've had good years and dreadful years. That said, I understand Xmas in Val d'Isere wasn't great this year!
To an extent, if you like the look of the place and need to book somewhere, and don't want to take the lower risk routes (Tignes, etc.) then maybe you should just book it. Just be prepped for alternative entertainment should the snow turn out less good than it can be.

shockingmoment,
You only need to be a "Registered User" to access the historical snow report. It's free, unlike proper SCGB membership.
